Claim existing addon
Because of the freedom for anyone to submit an addon to our catalog, it’s possible that another user submitted the addon you developed.
Fortunately you can still claim the addon you developed, so your name will be displayed in the author field on the addon’s page.
Validate addon ownership
To claim an addon, you need to validate that you are the rightful owner of the addon.
Requirements
- Stremio account
- Access to your addon’s source code
- The ability to publish changes to your addon hosting platform
Make sure you sign in with the correct credentials as there’s no going back once the addon has been tied to your account! We recommend using a separate Stremio account to keep your personal and developer accounts separate.
Procedure
- Navigate to the page of the addon you want to claim.
- Click the
Claimlink at the bottom of the page (you won’t see this if you’re not signed in). - Follow the instructions to validate your ownership of the addon.
Known issues
Beamup
Due to aggressive caching strategies it can take up to 4 hours for an addon deployed to beamup to update its manifest. Please be patient and check in on the manifest periodically. You an always resume verification at a later point in time.
Become the maintainer
Only the submitter of the addon has the permission to maintain the information page (documentation, categories, manifest url, etc.).
In most cases the submitter is also the developer of the addon, but this is not always the case. For instance, you can have your friend submit and maintain the addon for you while you do the development.
If you change your mind and want to become the maintainer of the addon as well, you can override the permission from the dashboard. Please keep in mind that the old submitter will lose control over the addon.
This action can not be reverted!
